  • Braven

Braven is a career-accelerating experience that prepares promising young people—many of whom are people of color, from low-income backgrounds, and the first in their families to attend college—to secure a strong first opportunity after college graduation. Braven works with higher education and employer partners to offer a life-changing experience that begins with a semester-long course for college students followed by support that lasts through graduation. Braven is helping to open up access to the American Promise, empowering a generation of leaders who mirror the demographics of our country. Lehman College offers CED 100: Jumpstart Your Career: Braven Accelerator that assists in preparing for the competitive, globalized job marketplace including forming professional networks, communication in multiple formats, teamwork, development of career potentials, and project management.

  • Futures in Finance (FIF)

CUNY Futures in Finance (FIF) is a workforce development initiative at the City University of New York in collaboration with financial firms such as Bloomberg LP, Centerbridge Partners, and Goldman Sachs.   • Teaching Fellows

Teaching Fellows is a program that involves around 200 new GTFs each fall from 31 doctoral programs at the Graduate Center, and they teach their first college courses at one of CUNY’s eleven senior colleges. The courses are primarily designed by GTFs entering their second year of doctoral study. GTFs commit to teaching for at least six semesters, and many continue to teach additional courses as adjuncts at CUNY in subsequent years.

  • Design: UI/UX Course (Art Department)

“Design: UI/UX,” is a course that teaches the basics of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design as students reimagine how design principles can improve consumer experience. Students work on a real-world corporate client’s website (including Delta Dental). “The course was developed in collaboration with Diversify by Design (DxD), an initiative to boost minority representation in the design field.”

At the heart of Intensives is the connection between industry professionals and academic institutions. DxD provides both with the resources and expertise necessary to create courses like “Design: UI/UX” that can transform both design education and, ultimately, the profession.
